Technical Visit
A technical visit is the perfect occasion for the EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference 2023 participants to discover cycling infrastructure projects and cycling tourism locations in the town of İzmir, exchanging best practices and learning from a up-and-growing cycling tourism destination.

Discover the challenges and assets of long-distance cycle routes in a dense urban area, learn more about cycling services offered by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and experience multimodality with a scenic ferry ride before cycling on the other side of the Gulf of İzmir.

The number of spots for the technical visit has been filled. It is not possible to register for the technical visit anymore. Thank you for your interest.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will kindly provide participants with bikes at no extra costs.
Refreshments will be provided during the technical visit, and lunch is offered to all participants.

Optional afternoon: Tour of Türkiye stage finish
On 13 October, one stage of the 2023 Tour of Türkiye will finish in the town of Selçuk, where ancient Ephesus is located. Join us to watch live some of the best professional cyclists in the world! The integration of sport cycling and heritage promotion is particularly interesting given the theme of this year's EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference and that the stage finishes nearby ancient Ephesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A transfer to Selçuk and back will be organised for those interested in going to the race stage finish. If you would like to take part, contact the PCO using the form below.
