Traveling to İzmir

İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB)

The airport is situated South of the city in the Gaziemir district. It is Türkiye’s fifth largest airport in terms of passenger numbers and it is widely used by Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Sunexpress, Corendon Airlines, and other airlines.

From the Adnan Menderes Airport, there are many options to reach the city.

Airport shuttles (HAVAŞ)

You can take a Havaş bus to Alsancak. There are regular departures listed here.

Public buses are run by ESHOT, the transportation department of the city council. The price is 20 TL per passenger.

Line number 202 will take you close to the conference venue.

A fast train line (İzban) connects the airport with Alsancak Station in the city centre between 6 AM and 11:30 PM.

Tickets can be bought at manned booths (“gişe”). There is a local transport card for residents, but you can also prefer “3-5 Bilet” (3-5 use tickets) for short-term stays. The price depends on how many trips you will make. It costs 30 TL and 50 TL for 2 and 5 trips, respectively. Please note that you cannot buy one-way 3-5 Bilet as the minimum fare covers two trips. You can buy a local transport card for 20 TL. When you load money to this card, you can use it on every bus, train, and ferry for 9 TL per usage.

Taxi is also another way to conveniently reach the city from the airport. You can find taxis at the exit of the arrival gate. A taxi ride to the city centre will cost approximately 300 TL.

Private transfer will go directly from the airport to your accommodation. Private transfers can be booked when you register online.
